TRUST & PRIVACY
Built on transparency
Trust in assessment depends on clear evidence, transparent data practices, and teacher-controlled decisions.
Student data is not training data
Assessment conversations and submissions are never used to train AI models. Your students' work belongs to them and their institution.
Encryption everywhere
Assessment data is designed to be encrypted at rest and in transit. Recording, transcript, and media retention depend on the evidence mode and policy configured for the assessment.
Configurable retention
Institutions control how long data is retained. Default retention is 90 days. Custom policies are available for institutional customers.
Privacy by design
Pruuva is built with FERPA, GDPR, and institutional privacy requirements in mind from day one. Compliance certifications will be completed before general availability.
Minimal data collection
Pruuva collects the data needed to run assessments, support the product, and produce evidence reports. Student data is not sold to data brokers.
Transparency
Students see their own assessment results based on visibility settings. Teachers see the full evidence report. The system works because it's transparent.
Data processing transparency
We believe you should know exactly how student data flows through Pruuva and which services are involved.
Pruuva can use approved AI providers, including Google Gemini and OpenAI, to power grading suggestions, adaptive probes, transcripts, and evidence reports depending on configuration.
Depending on assessment mode, transcription and realtime conversation may be processed through browser capabilities or approved audio and AI providers.
We are committed to signing Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with institutional customers.
Consent & access
Every interaction in Pruuva is governed by clear consent and strict access boundaries.
Students see a monitoring notice before every defense session.
An explicit consent checkbox is required before recording begins.
Consent timestamp and policy version are stored for auditability.
Only the assigned instructor and institutional admins can see assessment results.
Students can view their own results based on instructor-configured visibility settings.
Data lifecycle
From submission to deletion, every piece of student data follows a controlled, auditable lifecycle.
Submissions and responses are encrypted at rest (AES-256).
Configurable retention policies with a default of 90 days.
Consent records include retention policy acknowledgment.
Evidence events are versioned — corrections create new versions, not overwrites.
Compliance commitments
Pruuva is in early access with founding educators. These are the standards we are actively building toward and plan to certify before general availability.
Privacy policy
A full privacy policy will be published before Pruuva reaches general availability. In the meantime, our data practices are governed by the principles above. Questions? Reach us at hello@pruuva.com.
