Pruuva

HOW IT WORKS

From submitted work to evidence in three steps

Pruuva fits into existing assignments and grading workflows. No course redesign. Better evidence for the decision instructors already need to make.

01

Create your assessment

5 minutes to set up

  • Upload your rubric or choose from templates that cover common assignment types
  • Select question types: written response, coding exercise, repository submission, or mixed format
  • Set the follow-up mode: text, audio, or video responses
  • Configure assessment depth (10 to 25 minutes) to match assignment complexity
  • Set access rules: share link, roster gating, or LMS integration
  • Publish and notify students with a submission link
02

Students submit and explain

10–20 minutes per student, asynchronous

  • Students submit their artifact: essay, code, slides, lab report, or any supported format
  • Pruuva reads the submission and generates questions targeting specific claims, passages, and reasoning tied to your rubric
  • Students respond through the configured mode (text, audio, or video) at their own pace
  • Questions adapt based on responses, probing deeper where understanding is unclear
  • Consent and monitoring notice are captured before the session begins
  • Real-time transcription lets students verify what was captured
03

Review evidence and grade

Your judgment, better informed

  • An evidence report is generated automatically with per-rubric comprehension scores and quoted transcript excerpts
  • Open the grading workspace: submission and evidence side by side
  • Review AI grading suggestions with confidence scores for each rubric dimension
  • Accept, adjust, or override any score. Add annotations and notes
  • Make the integrity decision: Accepted, Needs Review, or Referred
  • Export grades as CSV and evidence as PDF reports for records, appeals, or accreditation

THE INSTRUCTOR EXPERIENCE

Grade with evidence, not assumptions

You stay in control

Pruuva surfaces evidence and suggestions. You make every grading and integrity decision. Overrides are a core feature, not an exception.

No course redesign

Students submit work exactly as they do now. Pruuva attaches to existing assignments. Most instructors start with a single assignment in one course.

Evidence you can cite

When a student contests a grade or an integrity decision is questioned, you have a timestamped record with rubric scores, transcript excerpts, and your annotations.

Works at any scale

A 300-student lecture course gets the same depth of individual evidence as a 15-student seminar. Every student, same structured follow-up.

THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE

A structured opportunity to demonstrate understanding

Fair and transparent

Students see what evidence is being collected before they begin. The process is a structured conversation about their own work, not a surveillance tool.

Flexible response modes

Students choose how to respond: text, audio, or video. Extended time accommodations are built in. No one is penalized for how they communicate.

On their schedule

The follow-up is asynchronous. Students complete it when they are ready, within the deadline the instructor sets. No live scheduling required.

A chance to demonstrate

Students who understand their work get a structured opportunity to show it, instead of being reduced to a detector score or writing pattern.

TRUST GUARDRAILS

Human judgment, privacy, and accessibility built in

Instructor authority

The AI assists; it does not adjudicate. Every grade and integrity decision is made by the instructor. Pruuva records the decision, the rationale, and any overrides.

Rubric alignment

Follow-up questions are generated from your rubric dimensions, not generic templates. The evidence maps to the criteria you care about.

Data handling

Student submissions and responses are processed to generate evidence and are not retained beyond the instructor's review period. Institution-controlled retention policies apply.

Accessibility

Text, audio, and video response modes. Extended time support. Pause and resume capabilities. Designed to assess understanding, not communication speed.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about how Pruuva works

How long does it take for an instructor to review one student?

Most evidence reviews take 3 to 5 minutes per student. The grading workspace shows the submission and evidence side by side, with AI suggestions you can accept or adjust.

What if a student has technical issues during the follow-up?

Instructors can reset a student's follow-up session. The student gets a fresh attempt with no penalty. No lost work, no unfair outcomes.

Can students see the evidence report?

Instructors control when and whether students see feedback. You can release results immediately, after grading is complete, or keep them internal.

Does this work for group projects?

Yes. Each team member gets their own follow-up. Individual understanding is assessed even when the deliverable was collaborative.

What subjects does this work for?

Any subject where students submit work. STEM, humanities, social sciences, professional programs, creative arts. The follow-up is generated from each student's specific submission, so it adapts to the content.

How is this different from oral exams?

Pruuva automates the conversation so you do not have to be in the room. It runs for every student, on their schedule, and gives you a structured report instead of your memory of a live conversation. Same pedagogical principle, completely different scale.
