FOR STUDENTS
A clearer way to show what you know
AI detectors guess from your text. Pruuva lets you demonstrate understanding of your own work through the mode your instructor configures.
THE PROBLEM RIGHT NOW
You did the work. You should be able to explain it.
You're being judged by a probability score
AI detectors scan your text and output a percentage. That number can vary between tools, between submissions, even between runs. Your grade — and your reputation — shouldn't depend on a guess.
The system isn't built for everyone
Non-native English speakers, neurodivergent students, and those with formal writing styles get flagged at higher rates. You didn't cheat — but the tool doesn't know that.
You need a way to show what you know
If someone doubts your work, screenshots and draft history only say so much. A clear explanation of your own work is stronger evidence.
HOW PRUUVA HELPS
Show what you know. That's it.
A conversation, not an interrogation
Pruuva reads your submission and asks you about it — the same kind of questions a professor would ask in office hours. If you did the work, you know the answers.
15 minutes, on your schedule
Complete the assessment when it works for you. There's no live examiner, no scheduling conflicts, no waiting outside an office. Just you and a conversation about your own work.
Questions from your submission
Every question is generated from what you actually wrote. Not generic quiz questions. Not trick questions. Specific questions about your arguments, sources, and reasoning.
It adapts to you
If your answer needs more detail, Pruuva can ask a follow-up. The assessment responds to your explanation instead of following only a rigid script.
Accessibility built in
Extended time accommodations, type-to-respond mode, and screen reader support help instructors make the process more accessible.
Your data stays yours
Your submissions and assessment responses are handled under the retention and access policies configured by your instructor or institution.
HOW IT ACTUALLY WORKS
Your experience, step by step
You get a link
You receive an email or see the assessment in your portal. Click the link when you're ready — there's a deadline, but you choose when within that window.
Submit your work
Upload your file (PDF, DOCX, code), paste text, or connect a repository. Whatever format your instructor set up.
Enter the defense
You'll see a consent notice explaining that your session will be transcribed. Accept, and the questions begin — they're all about YOUR specific submission.
Respond in the configured mode
Your instructor may configure text, audio, or video responses. If transcription is enabled, you can see what is being captured.
Review what was captured
Where transcript review is enabled, you can see the words being recorded for the evidence report.
Your instructor reviews
When you're done, your instructor receives the evidence report and grades your work. You'll see results based on the visibility settings they chose.
YOUR RESPONSE OPTIONS
Respond the way that works for you
Different students communicate differently. Pruuva gives you options so the assessment captures your understanding — not your comfort with a particular input method.
Speak your answer
Your browser transcribes in real-time as you talk. You can see the transcript appear as you speak, so you know exactly what's being captured.
Type your answer
Prefer typing? Every question can be answered in text. Same assessment, same depth — just a different input method.
Audio or video recording
Some assessments may use audio or video recording modes. You will see the configured mode before you start.
Text-only fallback
If camera or microphone permissions fail, your instructor can provide an approved text-based or reset workflow based on the assessment policy.
YOUR DATA
You control what happens
Your privacy matters. Here is exactly what happens with your data — no fine print, no ambiguity.
Consent before recording
You see a clear monitoring notice and give explicit consent before any recording or transcription begins. Nothing starts until you say so.
Transcripts, not raw audio
Your instructor sees a structured evidence report with transcript excerpts organized by rubric. Depending on the assessment policy, audio or video may also be retained for review.
Instructor-controlled visibility
When you see your results is controlled by your instructor. They decide whether feedback is available immediately, after the deadline, after grading, or not at all.
Institutional retention policies
How long your data is stored is determined by your institution's retention policy. Your data doesn't hang around indefinitely — it follows the rules your school sets.
THE DIFFERENCE
Detection assumes guilt. Pruuva lets you demonstrate knowledge.
AI DETECTION
- Scans your text for AI-like patterns
- Outputs a probability score you can't challenge
- Higher false-positive rates for ESL students
- You're guilty until proven innocent
- No way to demonstrate your understanding
PRUUVA
- Reads your submission, then talks to you about it
- Produces evidence of what you actually understand
- Adapts to your pace and communication style
- You demonstrate understanding in your own words
- Evidence works in your favor when you know your work
LET'S BE HONEST
What you might be thinking
"It's basically an oral exam"
It's a conversation, not a high-stakes exam. You're discussing your own work at your own pace. If you wrote it and understand it, you'll do fine.
"It's trying to catch me cheating"
Pruuva gives you a way to demonstrate what you know. The evidence can support you when you understand your work.
"I'll freeze up because I have anxiety"
Your instructor may allow typed responses or accommodations. The experience is designed to feel more like a focused check-in than an interrogation.
"It penalizes my writing style"
Pruuva doesn't analyze your text for AI patterns. It doesn't care how your paper sounds. It only cares whether you can explain what you wrote.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Every student deserves a fair process
Understanding over style
Pruuva is designed to focus on what you can explain about your work, not whether your writing style resembles a statistical pattern.
Transparent process
You know what's happening and why. No black-box scores. No hidden algorithms deciding your fate.
Your data, protected
Handled under your instructor's or institution's retention and access policies. Your privacy matters.
QUESTIONS FROM STUDENTS
The things you actually want to know
What does a Pruuva assessment actually feel like?
Like a conversation about your paper with a professor who's actually read it. It asks about your arguments, your sources, your reasoning. If you did the work, it's a chance to show that — not a trap.
What if I'm nervous about oral assessments?
Your instructor may allow typed responses or extended time accommodations. The experience is designed to be focused and lower-pressure than a live oral exam.
How long does it take?
About 15 minutes. You complete it on your own schedule, whenever works for you — just before the deadline your instructor sets.
What if I did the work but can't remember a specific source?
Pruuva is looking for understanding, not memorization. If you understand the concept but can't recall a specific citation, your explanation of the idea still demonstrates comprehension. It's about depth, not recall.
Can I use this to prove I didn't cheat?
Yes. If you understand the work you submitted, the assessment creates evidence of that understanding. That gives your instructor more context than an AI detector score.
What happens to my data?
Your submission and assessment responses are handled according to your instructor's or institution's access and retention policies. Pruuva does not use student submissions or assessment conversations to train its own generative AI models.
What if English isn't my first language?
Pruuva is designed to focus on understanding, not language fluency or prose polish. Your instructor reviews the evidence of how you explain your work.
Does my professor see everything I say?
Your professor receives a structured evidence report with comprehension scores and selected transcript quotes. They see the evidence of your understanding, organized by rubric — not a raw recording.
You did the work. Now prove it.
Ask your instructor about Pruuva — or tell them you want a fair way to show what you know.
